Current Icon Rocklear warranty and distributor materials report a single-application film thickness of approximately 63 microns and automotive warranty options up to 15 years. Those are manufacturer-reported specifications—not a promise that every vehicle, use case, or warranty option is identical. Preparation and expectations still matter
Icon Rocklear does not make paint perfect by itself. The vehicle must be inspected for failing clear coat, repainted panels, deep scratches, chips, pitting, etching, corrosion, and body damage. Some light surface defects may be visually reduced by the system; deeper damage can remain visible and may require correction or repair before installation.
It is also not paint protection film. PPF remains the stronger choice for maximum stone-chip and road-debris protection on high-exposure areas. Icon Rocklear is better understood as a thick, liquid-applied finish system with different strengths and tradeoffs—not as a universal replacement for ceramic coating or PPF.
Cure, care, and warranty service
After installation, Deep Reflections provides the initial-care plan for the vehicle. Current Icon aftercare calls for a minimum 30-day full cure, no washing during the first 14 days, and touchless washing only after that initial period. The surface should not be rubbed, polished, waxed, or exposed unnecessarily to aggressive chemicals while it cures.
Warranty coverage depends on proper registration, care, and service. Current terms require inspection within 18 months, and future polishing, scratch repair, or re-coating must be handled by an Icon-certified facility. Damage from stone chips, collisions, improper washing, harsh chemicals, paint defects, or non-certified repair may be excluded. Always rely on the written warranty supplied with your installation.
The right decision starts with the vehicle
Some owners will be better served by ceramic coating for gloss, hydrophobic behavior, and easier maintenance. Others should use PPF where impact protection is the priority.
